Don’t pour money down the drain

A prolonged leaky faucet or toilet can result in unnecessary expenses not only for you, but for everyone in the building. If you hear continuous water running in the walls or in pipes that’s been occurring for several days, report it to the Resident Manager. Inform the RM where you heard the water, the time you’ve been hearing it, and for how many days it’s been happening. The more information you provide, the easier it is for the RM to pinpoint the origin and take the appropriate action.

Also, immediately report any dripping noises you hear at night. This could be caused by a damaged pipe, deteriorating toilet wax ring, leaking shower pan, etc. Doing so will prevent further damage to the building and help keep maintenance fees down.

Low Water Pressure?

If your water pressure is low after a building water shutdown, it’s always a good idea to clean your faucet aerator. This is the screen at the tip of your faucet.

Most modern faucets have aerators that can simply be unscrewed allowing you to clean out the sediment it collects. You may also want to do this with your showerheads.

If you have never done it, you may notice a big improvement in your water pressure after cleaning it. Seek the help of a plumber whenever you’re unsure about working on any type of water fixture.

Be A Good Neighbor

Visitors

Be alert to strangers roaming around the building. All visitors must wait for their hosting resident to admit them into the lobby. If you see something odd, report it to the Resident Manager, or Police immediately.

Residents

Be considerate. Do not sweep or shake anything from your unit out onto the hallways or off lanais. Dust and debris falling into units below are unpleasant. Items falling onto cars below damage the property of others.  Residents with registered service animals are responsible for clean up in all common areas, including stairwells.

While carrying trash to the chute or elevator, look behind you. Garbage bags must be sealed and leak-proof … please. Trails of drippings are difficult to clean.

Quiet time is from 10 PM to 8 AM. Be respectful and quiet while traversing the walkways during these hours.
